Kim Davis is a Houston-based journalist, speaker and consultant. She writes and produces print, online and video content for various media outlets about sports, politics and other issues. As a consultant, she helps corporations, non-profits, entrepreneurs and individuals find their voice, develop their message and tell their story. Kim helps people be heard in a time where there is so much noise. She uses communication as the tool and sports as the arena. As a speaker, she also draws on her background as a journalist, sports executive and athlete to address communications, leadership, community, diversity and wellness.
With more than two decades of experience broadcasting, writing and talking about sports, politics and issues she is branching out as an infopreneur as she informs, engages and educates audiences and clients. Kim has always been involved in infotainment including the nearly six years she spent at KPRC Local 2 where she created, hosted and produced “Beyond the Headlines,” the station’s only 30-minute issued based show. Prior to that, she played an integral role in the planning of Super Bowl XXXVIII (38) as Vice President of External Relations.
Kim is a native Houstonian and graduate of Texas A&M University. Her career began in Houston with The Houston Sun, The Houston Post, KCOH Radio, Black Entertainment Television and KHOU-TV. She has anchored and reported news and sports in Texas, Illinois, Washington, DC and New Orleans. She’s received several awards for professional excellence and community service including being named one of Houston’s Top 25 Women in 2010. She remains active in the community working with several boards and non-profit organizations including AIDS Foundation Houston and the National and Houston Associations of Black Journalists.
